Online optimization for optical readout of a single electron spin in diamond

The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond has been developed as a promising platform for quantum sensing, especially magnetic field measurements the nano-tesla range with nano-meter resolution. Optical spin readout performance direct effect on signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of experiments. In this work, we introduce an online optimization method to customize laser waveform readout. Both simulations and experiments reveal that our new scheme optimizes optically detected resonance NV center. SNR optical witnessed 44.1% increase addition, applied Rabi oscillation experiment, which shows improvement 46.0% contrast reduction 12.1% mean deviation compared traditional constant power optimization. This is improve sensitivities wide NV-based applications future.
